"iilux" was the final project for Media Advertising at UofGH. We developed a company and product, its brand strategy and an ad campaign employing a range of advertising types. This was presented to the class in a 30 min. presentation, which can be viewed here.
As the "CEO" of the company, I was the responsible for the direction of our brand identity, producing the advertising content, and managing our group.
Our company produces smart glass technology, allowing users to control the tint level of windows. We specialize in its use in luxury cars.
This is a short commercial I put together for online and television advertising.
When creating the logo, the eclipse imagery was important to our brand identity, drawing a parallel with our adjustable tint.
The contrasting colours of black and gold are simple but stark, and communicate a luxurious feel. The animated rendition of the logo features the growing and shrinking of the two dots in the letter 'i's, conveying the adjustable nature of the product.
For an outdoor advertisement, I came up with an interactive mall exhibit, featuring several large panes of iilux glass that can be played with by shoppers.
For a print ad, I created a simple full page magazine advertisement to be shown in auto magazines, employing several advertising techniques we learned about in class.
As a little bonus for our presentation, I got creative and put together this tongue-in-cheek interview clip featuring the voice of Elon Musk.
Our market segment closely overlaps that of companies like Tesla, and incorporating Elon Musk's persona into our presentation in a funny way was well received, capturing the attention of our prof and our classmates.
